I hired Straight Ahead Construction to do exterior finish work on a 2-story, 1,200 square foot home. The exterior finish included corrugated steel siding with a generous amount of cedar accents. The job went well beyond typical exterior finish work: among other things, Straight Ahead Construction reworked the foundation and framed in a ground-level garage, installed exterior foam on the walls, beefed up the roof insulation and air space, and installed a large exterior deck. My wife and I continued to live in the house for the duration of the project so we were able to meet with the crew and monitor jobsite progress on a daily basis.
During the planning and design phase, Mike showed me some of his past jobs, and was generous with his time in discussing pros and cons of various options. We were able to bounce ideas of each another until we came up with functional, affordable solutions and a really sharp look for the house. The crew was reliable, with no delays or stall-outs, and I was impressed with their attention to detail and the overall quality of the workmanship. The job really did proceed “straight ahead.” They was also very friendly and easy to talk to. Mike and his crew have many years of experience in cold-climate construction in Interior Alaska and we really felt the difference last winter. Straight Ahead Construction was easy to do business with and there was no nonsense when it came to the billing.
Straight Ahead Construction did a terrific job on our house. I am very pleased with the results of last year’s construction season and would not hesitate to recommend Straight Ahead Construction to my friends and family—whether for new-build construction, remodel, or for finishing up an existing project.
